I made a contour diaper nearly the exact same way. I traced a Motherease Popolino diaper and used two small receiving blankets and an old terry towel. I sandwiched the terry in between the flannel receiving blankets and zig/zagged the whole thing. I could add snaps or velcro and elastic. They work great.....another prototype.
