Thanks to Louise for this Frugal Baby Tip!
Anna asked: My sister mailed me two huge boxes of baby clothes, that look hardly worn. The only problem is, the whites are really gray and the colors are very dull. I think she must have water with high mineral concentrations. Would it be okay to wash them in bleach to brighten them up, then rinse them 10 times or so?
Louise responds: Someone just sent this into the mom's list I'm on, and says it works great. I hope it helps your clothes! Hand-me-downs are a wonderful thing!
3/4 cup Clorox 2 (all fabric bleach)
3/4 cup Cascade (yes, the dishwashing detergent)
1 gallon water
Soak the offending clothes in solution for as long as necessary. Wring out, wash and use solution for other soiled clothes if needed.
