Interesting study was done at hospitals in Canada. Conclusion: if you leave the umbilical cord stump alone, no alcohol, it falls off faster. When you use alcohol on it, the alcohol kills the 'good' bacteria whose job it is to dry up the stump.
I used alcohol on my son's stump and no alcohol on Keely's. I can't remember when her's fell off, I do remember my pregnant neice was changing her diaper at the time and it grossed her out. Anyway, alcohol or no alcohol, doesn't matter.
