Thanks to Noella for this Frugal Baby Tip!
We live in an apartment, and have a washer/dryer downstairs that costs $2.00 per load - how can I save money?
If you need to soak the diapers, you could do that in the apartment before bringing them down to wash. use a large pot, boil (or heat to preferred temp) some water, and use whatever soap or detergent you use, and toss in the diapers, let soak for 1/2 to 1 hour and then bump excess water to facilitate bring them downstairs, and wash.
If you have a downy ball, put vinegar in it to help rinse out the diapers. I don't often rinse my diapers twice unless I've put too much detergent in the washer. I use 1 to 2 tbsp per load, I do diapers every day though, for full loads of laundry - it's 2-3 tbsp (spoke to a chemist who said no one should need more then that).
