Thanks to Stephanie for this Frugal Baby Tip!
I grate the bar finely & keep it in a jar (dry) with the lid on & away from the heat of the washer & dryer. When I wash I usually run a cold rinse cycle first, without any soap. Then I start the water running on hot & when it starts to fill so that the water level is above the diapers, I add 1/4 cup washing soda & 1/4 cup of the grated soap.
It melts right away & I have no absorbancy problems at all. I think the washing soda may help with that, but I'm just guessing. Anyway, I love the results I have gotten from the soap. I highly recommend it.
