Thanks to Anne for this Frugal Baby Tip!Disposables are just not an option for us because they are 1) expensive, 2) of questionable healthiness 3) just plain yucky.
Baby #1 is due at the end of September & I am busy preparing for her arrival.
We are trying to get ready for diapering with very little (almost no) $$$. So far we have a dozen birdseye prefolds (given to us), a dozen flat birdseye (.50 for the package on clearance at Target), 6 DSQ prefolds (also for .50 at Target), 1 small & 2 medium Ecology Kids wraps (given to us), 6 assorted newborn wraps (.30 each at a thrift store) & assorted pins and plastic pants (mostly Gerbers and Dappis).
Budget diapering is beginning to become an obsession! The other day I found cotton flannel (so soft) for sale for .88 a yard at my fabric store, and bought eight yards.
So yesterday, I sewed all day & used half the flannel, resulting in 7 contoured diapers of differing designs, traced off of the contours of the diaper wraps I have (mixed with old towel terry and old receiving blankets for their cute patterns).
On the quest for pefect almost no-budget diapering system!!
