Thanks to Linda for this Frugal Baby Tip!
I don't use cloth wipes. (Maybe someday...) However, I do make my own disposable wipes. I got this recipe (and there are others there, too) from www.gentleparenting.com .
I cut a paper towel roll in half and soak it in a solution of 2 cups water, 2 Tbs. mineral oil (could also use 1 Tbs mineral oil and 1 Tbs. calendula oil), 1 Tbs baby wash, and then a few drops each of tea trea and lavender essential oils. Smells nice and works great.
I place the half-roll and the solution in a 3-liter plastic container with a lid opening in the middle. Since the paper towels are connected, they "pop up" one after another, a lot like the commercial ones. My husband and I are really happy with this system.
I still use commercial disp. wipes when I'm out of the house, tho.
